Save Music From Extinction

Imagine a world without Music.... now read on how this could happen... This post is simply here to remind you that if you don't support the talented musicians and artists that bring you the music to your ears, then you will most likely not have it to listen to in the near future (refer to the video on Music In Tune). Most artists these days barely scrap in the dollars to survive. Their not in it for the money, their there to give you the songs you all so love and enjoy. SO much time is spent making a track, which is why it's really important that you consider this when you download a track and don't bother to buy the CD/Legally download it later. As an Australian our music industry is a lot smaller, so I urge you all to support the Aussies so they can keep making the music.

Thanks for your support. & Save Music From Extinction.

Indie From Down Under
...Cassette Kids

Once again another HOT aussie band has found its way to my ears! WHO are they? Well they are the Cassette Kids, from Sydney. A good looking 4some who bring all the best in indie rock to our ears. & For all those who live in Australia, you are in for a treat when they support the Presets in their tour this June. WOOO. Thats mean i will be seein the kids on the 14th.

CK bursted onto the scene when they scored the winning position to preform at Big Dat Out and have toured every nook and cranny since then. So they should be set to release a nice Phat LP real soon. To keep you on the same bang wagon, check out Acrobat below.

Introducing:
...Ctrl Alt Del

Well I thought I would give a little introduction into the band Ctrl Alt Del, which Mic Doney is apart of... & who recently sent an email my way regarding his Veronicas RMX, (see previous post). C.A.D are like Rogue Traders in many ways, there are 3 guys & 1 girl, they come from aussie shores, have dance/pop/rock tunes, yet without all the commercial strings. But if you have a few listens you will get my drift. Still I like them, I see a market for them and I believe in them... OR else i wouldnt be blogging about em. I really like Take Me Away where the guy vocals kick the track off. Sharing the vocal job is what makes them special. Head to their myspace page now.

FABIAN

It's not everyday that you come across an artist that emails you asking to be talked about on your blog, only to find that they are actually really flippin good. & thats what I found last week with Fabian. He is a 20 something guy from Melbourne, Australia and has the talent to be called the little brother of Justice. Seriously Fabian should be a name you know already, so learn it, enjoy it and play it LOUDER than ever before. The synth guitars will get you pumped up and Krumping like its Hot for hours. Give Fabian a shoutout too on his myspace and tell him what you think. Cause this is one artist who is already goin places...

P.S. When you head over to his Myspace page be sure to check out the comp of Remixing his song POW POW POW!!!

MOS: Clubbers Guide
...To 2008

I love it when the Ministry of Sound Annual CD comes out it means more great songs to hear and a load of banging tunes to get hooked on. Even more I love it when the Clubbers Guide comes out. The 2008 Australian Edition is here and jammed pack with some deep basslines and hard hitting kicks to keep you partying on for hours. After only a few minutes previewing the CD it's fair enough to say that I won't be listening to much more than this for at least the next month or maybe even more. So expect a few reviews of the track over the next coming weeks. For all those in Australia, get a copy now. For those abroad find it on the net NOW!!!

MOS: Clubbers Guide to 2008 is mixed by Sam La More (Who I have seen live a few times) & Hook N Sling. Both Uber COOL DJs from Ozzie Land.

Operator Please

Okay I'm a big fan of local talent and over the past week Operator Please from the Gold Coast (Only like an hour drive from me) have been poking through the music stack... Thanks to the likes of the great REMIX. Bigstereo last posted the G.L.O.V.E.S remix of Get What You Want, and yep I'm proud to say that they are Australian too and have done a fine job of turning it into a club hit too. Meanwhile Hipster Runoff posted about the Teenagers remix of For my 2 Seconds, both songs taken from their debut album Yes Yes Vindictive, pretty good for a band that has mostly teens in it. GO AUSSIES!!!!

Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin have just created some new tunes Vision 2020, The Forest & Always. I'm really digging Vision 2020, which has a similar Happy feel that is present in most Muscle tracks. I just reckon 'us' Aussies are taking over the music scene, SO the rest of the world better look out... CR are a young all male duo from Brisbane, where I reign aswell, and I not long ago blogged bout the boys cause of their awesome sets that i saw in just a week. The Guys are keeping it fresh and current with distorted synths, heavy basslines and rich indie sounds vocals... ARH Gotta love em...

So head over to their myspace page now...

In the meantime dance to this remix they did

Ultra Violet MC

This artist discovery came about through a work colleague's daughter, who to my amazement was off the chart. She is only 21 and making tunes that would make M.I.A. jealous... I'm serious! From my 1st listen I was hooked.
Ultra Violet MC has this fusion of rapping over the sounds of all those retro video games we so loved to play as kids, & may still do so now. What's even better is that she is all Aussie and is keen not to hit commercialism anytime soon. UV MC is one of a kind, although some might day she was the sister of Macomantics, Kid Sister or M.I.A. Thankfully she is nice enough to let us download her tunes right off her myspace page.

Next on the list is making a RMX with her. Hopefully she agrees.

Preset's People

I guess it was just a matter of time before I blogged about My People, the new Single from The Presets... as it seems every man and his dog has already done so. Now at 1st when I got this track I was unsure if it was a sure-fire winner. But I had the same reaction with Umbrella. Now I'm just a tad bit addicted to pressing repeat. Luckily this wasn't the case as it just happened to be playing as I listening to the Triple J this morning. Previous to the tracks play a interview with Julian from The Presets, spoke of the new LP which is yet to titled due for release in March 2008, as quoted by Julian himself. In the meantime we can enjoy the dirty driven My People and go nuts in the clubs over summer. So get your Dance ON!!! Oh yeah, found a remix of the track too by Damage On The Backseat.

p.s. GO the Aussies.
